Germs are easily spread from surface to surface, either by person to person or by touching unclean surfaces. Our tips can help prevent the spread of germs around your home.

Cloths and brushes

• Try to use disposable cloths or paper towels when possible.
• For reusable cloths and brushes wash them in disinfectant regularly

Baths, sinks and showers

• Disinfecting the bath, sink and shower after it has been used by someone with a cold or flu is a good idea.
• The shower curtain as a warm damp environment can be a perfect place for germs to multiply. Try to wash this occasionally too.

Kitchen

• Ensure surfaces are clean, by using a disinfectant spray such as Dettol Disinfectant Spray.
• Wash your hands before you start preparing food.
• If you sneeze or blow your nose, wash your hands before returning to the food.

Toys

• Plastic toys can be cleaned with disinfectant spray to stop the spread of germs such as Dettol Disinfectant Spray.
• Most soft toys can be put in the washing machine to remove germs and bacteria too - check manufacturer's instructions first though!
